Delfzijl-BioMCN said it has opened the world's 'largest" second generation biofuel plant in Delfzijl, the Netherlands (PCN, 22 Mar 2010, p 3).The 250-million liter/yr facility produces bio-methanol through BioMCN's innovative process, which uses crude glycerin as feedstock. Bio-methanol reduces C02 emissions by 78% compared to regular methanol, the company noted.
