Ludwigshafen— BASF has announced plans to increase its production capacity for Neopor expandable polystyrene (EPS) by 60,000 t/y in stages at its Ludwigshafen complex in Germany. The first of the new capacity is expected to be on stream starting this December, with the full capacity addition to be achieved by October 2013 "at the latest," said BASF. Noting that this is the second Neopor capacity increase at Ludwigshafen within three years, BASF explained the increase will be achieved by expanding existing production facilities.
