Houston-Nearly 24-million tons of new methanol capacity has been announced for the five-year period beginning in 2006,and because much of it is not demand driven,it is set to "flood" the industry with overcapacity by the 2008/2009 timeframe,predicts Chemical Market Associates Inc.(CMAI) in its new 2007 World Methanol Analysis.
