Jubail-Solvay said it plans to establish an equally-owned joint venture with the proposed Sadara joint venture between Dow Chemical and Saudi Aramco to produce hydrogen peroxide (HP) for the production of propylene oxide (PO) by Sadara (see Sadara story on page 1). The plant, for which capacity was not given, will be located in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, and will be based on Solvay's advanced HP to PO technology, making it possible to reduce both the capital intensity and the environmental footprint of PO production, noted Solvay.
