Enslewood—Gevo said it intends to appeal the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's (USPTO) denial of Gevo's request to reexamine the Butamax Advanced Biofuels patent 7,851,188 for biobuta-nol (PCN, 22-29 Aug 2011, p 2). Gevo has also filed a separate petition with USPTO requesting reexamination and invalidation of Butamax bio-butanol patent 7,993,889.
