摘要

Measurements of S' precipitate dimensions in Al-4.1 Cu-1.6 Mg-0.1 Mn (wt%) alloy for times up to 10 000 h at 200oC are shown to give coarsening rates in good accord with previous results in the range 260 to 300o C and at 190oC. The three sets of results are represented well by KT = K0 exp (-Q/RT) with Q = 175 kJ mol-1 and K = 3.2 10-9 m3 Ks-1 where K = (2dV/dA)3 in which V and A are the mean volume and surface area of the S' lath precipitates respectively.
