A code was modified to simulate the lower hybrid current drive on the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST). It was found that the lower hybrid wave (LHW) power deposition and current drive profiles could be made predictions for different power spectra, plasma parameters and magnetic equilibrium configurations. The LHW power deposition and current drive profiles can be controlled by selecting the proper LHW power spectrum, plasma density and temperature. The power deposition and current drive profiles tend to broaden as the plasma temperature and density increase. The increase in plasma temperature can substantially improve the current drive efficiency.
