Constructing theoretical M-shell spectra for Mg-like Au through Cl-like Au ions in gold plasma diagnostics

The theoretical atomic structure and spectra data for electric dipole transitions in six gold ions (Au~(67+) through Au~(62+)) are produced using the flexible atomic code (FAC). The produced data contain energy levels, radiative transition rates and oscillator strengths with Δn ≠0 (n = 3 → 4, 5, 6, 7). All M-shell strong lines for the six gold ions are also identified. The produced data and constructed spectra revealed the presence of a wide variety of ionization stages of Au with several blended spectral lines in the spectral range (1.7-4.4 ?). Calculated energy levels are compared against published values, which were calculated using the multi-reference many body perturbation theory that includes higher order quantum electrodynamics corrections effects. Favorable agreement with <0.26% difference was observed.
