In this paper, formulas for the optical spectrum and the EPR parameters calculated for d(2) ions in T-d symmetry are established by using a covalent model, in which the covalence contribution has been considered. Using the model, we have calculated the optical spectra and the ground-state gyromagnetic factor and zero-field splitting of CdS: Ti2+. The calculated results could explain well the experimental findings.
