Its membership includesinstitutions, individuals and small busi-nesses. FPA was formed 30 years agoand its aim, then and now, is to ensurethe timely development and acceptanceof fusion as a socially, environmentallyand economically attractive source ofenergy. Stephen 0 Dean co-foundedFPA in 1979 and has been its presidentever since. He trained as a physicist andspent 14 years managing fusion pro-grammes for US government agencies.
