NASA has announced it will send another rover to Mars by 2020 that will be modelled on the $2.5bn Curiosity rover that landed on the red planet last August. The as-yet-unnamed mission, costing around $1.5bn, will use the same landing system and rover chassis as Curiosity but is expected to carry new instruments. "We have a whole new Mars mission, and I’m very excited about that," says John Grunsfeld, head of NASA’s science mission directorate.
