It is not possible to test physics at thePlanck length directly because it corres-ponds to an energy of about 1019 GeV – waybeyond the reach of particle accelerators(the most powerful of which, CERN's LargeHadron Collider, will generate collision en-ergies of about 104 GeV). However, this la-test research, led by Jonathan Granot of theUniversity of Hertfordshire in the UK, hasprovided an indirect test of Lorentz invari-ance at the Planck scale.
