A little more than two years since the first primitive invisibility cloaks were unveiled, researchers have still only managed to make objects disappear at one specific frequency of light. Now, a pair of physicists has drawn up a blueprint for a cloak that could truly make an object vanish before your eyes. Using a neat link between the geometry of flat and curved space, the researchers think that their design could work over the entire visible spectrum.
