Adlène Hicheur, the particle physicist convicted of terrorist charges, has been released from a French prison less than two weeks into his four-year prison sentence. According to his former supervisor Jean-Pierre Lees, a researcher at the Particle Physics Laboratory in France, Hicheur had considered appealing the guilty verdict but in the end decided against it because it would have required him to remain in prison for an additional eight months.
