Properties of electron systems of the two-dimensional high-T-c superconductors are studied on the assumption that these systems undergo a phase transition, i.e. fermion condensation, ensuring the flattening of the single-particle spectra, adjacent to the Fermi surface. As compared with previous models of fermion condensation, damping effects are explicitly taken into account. Results of calculations are found to be in qualitative agreement with ARPES data.
