Changes in the bulk structure of aqueous polymer solutions have been explored in the past in great detail by small-angle scattering. In the present work we discuss the influence of a hydrophilic and a hydrophobic coating of a silicon wafer on such ordering phenomena. A 33% (in weight) solution of Pluronic P85 shows when sheared at a hydrophilic interface an enhancement of the in-plane structure, whereas the ordering becomes reduced for a hydrophobic termination.
