It is suggested that solutions to micromagnetic problems could be obtained more quickly by enumerating equilibrium states. An outline of how to enumerate states is given. The details of these states still need to be calculated micromagnetically. However, vortices interact with one another via force laws. To obtain a good initial state, we examine how vortices interact with each another.
