摘要

Iron containing alumino-silicate systems are investigated as potential biomaterialsfor hyperthermia. The samples were obtained following a sol-gel route. The X-ray diffractiondata show for the heat treated samples the crystallisation of both hematite and magnetite crystals.The Fe 2p core level photoelectron spectrum confirmed the occurrence of iron ions both inFe~(2+)and Fe~(3+)valence states. The sample surface was functionalised in Kokubo simulatedbody fluid enriched with bovine serum albumin. The attachment of the protein was provedby X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
