Structural analysis of xAg_2O(100-x)[3B_2O_3·As_2O_3] glass system, with 0 ≤ x 10mol%, was performed by means of FT - IR spectroscopy. The purpose of this work is toinvestigate the structural changes that appear in the 3B_2O_3·As_3glass matrix with the additionand increasing of silver ions content. Pyro-, ortho-. di-, tri-, tetra-. penta-borate groups andstructural units characteristic to As_2O_3were found in the structure of studied glasses. At smallsilver oxide content the predominant structural units are those in which boron is three-foldcoordinated. For higher silver oxide concentrations (x ≥ 5 mol%) the number of four-foldcoordinated boron units is increasing. The changes in the A_r = A_4/A_3(A_4and 3reflect therelative amount of tetrahedral (BO_4 and BO_4~-) and triangular (BO_3and 2O) borate species) ratio also shows the fact that silver oxide influence the boron coordination number.
