摘要

The present study was carried out with the intention of thermallyanalyse bone samples of different origins and of determining heat treatment temperaturesproper for developing a method to obtain hydroxyapatite (HAP) powder usable forbiomedical applications. Bones studied here were deer antler, human skull, cattle,pig, fish, hen and turkey. The results show that the removal of the organic matrix can beachieved by heat treatments applied above 500°C. At the same time it was evidencedthat the organic matrix has sensibly different content in the investigated samples,depending on the bone nature.
