摘要

Pristine clay samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction,differential thermal analysis and gravimetric thermal analysis, as well as bynitrogen adsorption/desorption method for specific surface area determination. Thesamples were thermally treated at different temperatures, up to 1200oC, and fordifferent periods of time, up to 8 hours, in order to investigate the effect of heattreatment parameters on their porosity. The heat treatment applied for 2 hours at1200oC leads after cooling to dark brown blackish colour, glassy structure andnegligible specific surface area
