摘要

The thiospinel compound CuIr2S4 exhibits a metal-insulator (MI) transition at about 230 K. It was found that superconductivity appeared after the MI transition being suppressed by Zn substitution for Cu. The superconducting transition temperature decreases from 3.3 K to 2.2 K with increasing of Zn substitution from 25% to 50%. The negative temperature coefficient of resistivity in the normal state suggests some kind of modification of electronic states, which might be related to the occurrence of the superconductivity.
