摘要

Electrodynamic and thermal properties of doped-manganites-based heterojunctions are numerically calculated for a model description of electron instability effects revealed in them under a strong current injection. The calculations are performed by jointly solving the thermal conduction and Poisson equations. Comparison of experimental and calculated data suggests that the effect of transport current on resistive properties of manganites-based heterojunctions is indicative of impurity-assisted phase separation in manganites. The motion of charged oxygen ions in the surface layer with high density of vacancies under the action of an electric field catalyzes phase separation. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
