摘要

The involvement of thrombin in wound healing has been established. Thrombin (EC3.4.21.5), a serine protease produced at the site of injury, converts fibrinogen to fibrin and activates plasma transglutaminase (factor XIII) to its active form in the final stage of blood coagulation. By intermolecular covalent linkage (Mosher, 1976), transglutaminase induces formation of a stable substrate for cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation (Clark and Colvin 1985). Patients with factor XIII deficiency have impaired wound healing (Duckert, 1972).
