摘要

This paper deals with some subset selection procedures for the largest unknown mean of K normal populations with unequal variances. The procedures are based on unequal numbers of observations from the given k normal populations. Some properties of the proposed selection rules are investigated. The problem of selecting all the normal populations with means better than a standard or control is also considered. Again, the proposed procedures are based on unequal number of observations from each of the populations. An application to testing the equality of K normal means with unequal variances, as in the Behrens-Fisher problem, is described. (Author)
