摘要

Fructose, galactose and mannose were substituted for dextrose in the citrate phosphate anticoagulant and tested for maintenance of ATP and 2,3-DPG levels during storage under blood banking conditions. The highest levels of 2,3-DPG were obtained with mannose, followed by galactose, and fructose and dextrose (control). Mannose appeared superior to the other dextroses in maintaining consistently higher 2,3-DPG levels, especially after the third and fourth week of storage. ATP levels were best maintained with dextrose and fructose, while galactose produced a precipitous drop in ATP levels after two weeks of storage. Substitution of dextrose by mannose in the anticoagulant resulted in low levels of ATP throughout the storage time. The fluorometric method used was unsuitable for the assay of ATP in the presence of mannose. (Author)
