摘要

The design of efficient hydrogen cooled thermal - structural panels requires the evaluation of the effects of many design parameters on performance as dictated by heat transfer, pressure drop and induced stress characteristics. Parameters of importance include maximum structural temperature; incident heat flux; external surface pressure; coolant passage length, depth, width, spacing and routing; coolant flow rate, inlet temperature and inlet pressure; panel length, width and depth; material thickness and external restraint on the panel. It is the interaction of these design parameters, in conjunction with material properties and fabrication considerations, which define the panel configuration, weight and efficiency of coolant utilization. The report presents the results of the design studies and analysis conducted for two-panel configurations designed for incident heat fluxes of up to 100 BTU/sq. ft-sec. (Author)
