摘要

The processes associated with production of a liquid hydrogen cooled structural panel were investigated. The panel design required a structure operating between -423F and +1500F and capable of carrying hydrogen internally at pressures up to 500 psia. Material screening tests led to the selection of L-605 alloy because of a good combination of productibility and high stress rupture strength at 1500F. Producibility studies were run, from which brazing was selected as the method of fabrication. J-8400, a cobalt-nickel-base alloy, was used for primary braze, with other lower melting point alloys used for joints later in the assembly sequences. Full size panels (2 feet by 4 feet) were assembled. (Author)
