An environmental wet test chamber was designed, developed and evaluated to simulate the wet environments of either coastal, industrial or shipboard sites. It provides an accelerated test procedure whereby results can be obtained in a matter of hours as compared to the days and weeks presently required in some commonly used environmental chambers. The unit permits the simultaneous testing of nine specimens and has proven its reliability in providing repeatable and reproducible patterns or corrosion. Specimens can be removed for examination or replacement without interrupting the operation of the unit, or disturbing the environment, or other specimens. The unit can be assembled from readily available, relatively inexpensive items, at a material cost not exceeding $100.00. (Author)
