We have developed an approach for numerical Monte Carlo solution of the Wignertransport equation for a mesoscopic system. In particular the Wigner function formalism has been used to analyze the quantum dynamics of charge carriers in presence of electron-phonon interaction in open mesoscopic systems, making use of the perturbation theory with the external fields incorporated into the unperturbed Hamiltonian. Wigner trajectories have been identified both for the ballistic propagation and for the case in which electron-phonon scattering is included.
