摘要

An investigation was conducted to determine the effects of various heat treatments on the microstructure and the life of small cast turbine 'blades of Haynes Stellite alloy 21, a cobalt-chromium-base alloy. Six heat treatments, which involved combinations of the following conditions, were studied:soaking at 2100° or 2250 F for 1 or 1,1/2 hours followed by air cooling to room temperature or furnace cooling to 1800° F and air cooling to room temperature. These treatments were followed in each case by aging at 1500 F for 72 hours.
