摘要

Research institutions exchange genetically modified bacterial strains by mail ona regular basis. Therefore, most countries have introduced strict rules which regulate the way in which genetically modified microorganisms are mailed. Also the IATA has formulated rules governing the transport of genetically modified microorganisms. Three issues of scientific journals were randomly chosen and ten authors in various countries, including The Netherlands were asked to mail some strains.
