摘要

The objective of the research project was to contribute to the understanding of how effective housing policies are developed in times of economic restraint by analyzing and interpreting the Swedish experience with regard to the social welfare of the elderly population. The social welfare model used in Sweden makes it one of the leading welfare states. The experience of Sweden during times of economic restraint can provide valuable policy ideas for countries, such as Canada, with a welfare model in transition. The report shows the similarities and differences in housing needs of elderly households in Sweden and Canada.
