摘要

The findings of an eight laboratory round robin evaluation of a proposed American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard test method for evaluating chemical protective clothing were presented. The purpose of the report was to evaluate the proposed ASTM degradation test method, and recommend changes that would result in improved consistency and reliability. Protective clothing materials were selected based on their level of use in commercial chemical protective clothing, the project team's subjective estimates of redgradatin resistance, and availability of samples. The findings of the study suggest that as indicated by wide variations in thickness, weight and elongation test data, the proposed ASTM standard test method for evaluating protective clothing materials for resistance to degradation by liquid chemicals should not be recommended for use in its present form.
