摘要

This report summarizes the findings of a study designed to help textile and apparel machinery manufacturers heighten their awareness of machinery technology and potential application of such technology in the textile and apparel industries. The study has three objectives: (a) to identify needs for high-technology applications to textile and apparel machinery; (b) to identify potential resources of high-technology research and development to be applied to textile and apparel machinery; and (c) to develop an organization that will help establish long-term approaches, including the development of a high-technology institute for the textile and apparel industries.
