In tests of six nematicides and two fungicides applied to peanuts for control of Meloidogyne arenaria and Schlerotium rolfsii, peanut yields increased significantly when nematicides were applied preplant treatments gave good nematode control, postplant nematicide treatments did not further increase yield. Yields increased with some combinations of nematicides and fungicides applied preplant and postplant or postplant alone. Yield increases were associated with suppression of nematodes, fungi, or both.
