Partners in Research was produced by the Small Ruminant Collaborative Research Support Program (SR-CRSP) to document the accomplishments of the program for the initial five year grant period. The long range goal of the program is to improve the efficiency of milk, meat, and fiber by sheep and goats in order to increase the food supply and income of the smallholder in lesser developed countries (LDCs). The program hopes to expand the body of knowledge and increase the level of competence of US and LDC scientists to conduct research on small ruminants in smallholder production systems. The research, coordinated by fourteen scientists (PIs) from 10 US institutions, is being undertaken in five countries (Indonesia, Peru, Brazil, Morocco, and Kenya).
