摘要

The purpose of this study was to determine the causes of innovation in the domestic food sector. The methodology consisted of a random sample mail survey of suppliers and food processors followed by intensive interviews. National innovation policy recommendations include the following: (1) economic and regulatory reforms that make more capital available to the sector at lower interest rates; (2) speed-up of the regulatory decision making process; (3) standardization of labeling requirements; (4) maintenance of government information dissemination function in food and food related areas; (5) an increased awareness and understanding of the policy formulation process at the firm level.
