This report was to be the Board's last report, and therefore it was to be a summary report that would articulate the Board's activities and set forth the major Findings and Recommendations of the Board drawn from its Research, Coordination, and Public Awareness and Education activities. The Findings are based on knowledge primarily gained through the Board's research program and the Board's introspective look at what it has learned over the past four years about metrication in the United States. The Recommendations of the Board are directed to the Congress, the Administration, Federal agencies, and the Department of Commerce as successor to the Board and represent the Board's advice as to what needs to be done to carry out the interests of the Metric Conversion Act.
