摘要

Described in detail in this report are the maximum technically feasible design programs and the technical issues that arose from residential research regarding classification systems,units of measure,and estimating methods. Analysis of residential data focused on building type and climate,fuel and equipment efficiencies,dwelling size,foundation type,air-conditioning,and weather data. Simulated energy estimates show that energy used for heating and cooling can be reduced by 58.9percent in the 20dwellings designed for energy conservation over that used by comparable dwellings as modified to HUD minimum requirements;energy used in NAHB modified dwellings showed an average reduction of 34.4percent over that used by comparable original dwellings and 27.5percent over HUD modified dwellings.
