摘要

The study is being conducted on a test strip of highway 900feet long located on the U.S. Highway 14Bypass near Brookings,South Dakota. Findings indicated that stresses due to wheel loads and/or warping are unlikely to cause tension cracks in the prestressed panels and that the pavement structure seems entirely adequate for traffic conditions encountered in South Dakota. Data obtained to date also indicates that the riding quality of this pavement has not diminished since the opening of the U.S. Highway 14Bypass in the fall of 1968. (Author)
