Inelastic Meson-Baryon Scattering Reaction in Frame Work of Veneziano Representation and SU(3) Symmetry and Backward piN Scattering in Parity Doubling Free Regge Pole Cut Model
A phenomenological examination of the Veneziano ansatz for the processes pion(-) + p -> pion (0) + n and pion(-) + p -> eta + n is presented. Using invariant amplitudes constructed as sum of beta function terms, an attempt is made to fit all the relevant high energy data as well as the inelastic width on the N sub alpha-trajectory. Combining this with the exact SU(3) symmetry inelastic meson baryon scattering of the type O(-) + 1/2(+) -> O(-) + 1/2(+) is studied. Backward pion N scattering is calculated using a simple Regge pole-cut model without parity doubling. These results are then combined with SU(3) symmetry to study other inelastic meson baryon reactions in the backward direction.
