In the work reported here, two major lines of attack were followed. The first employed a mathematical model to deduce what the "expected" correlations between D2s should be under certain specified conditions. Thus far, we have assumed a multivariate normal surface for the individual's ratings of different figures on different factors; these assumptions allow one to derive properties of the distribution surface of two or more D2s. Our present results may later be extended by generalizing the multivariate rating distribution surface beyond the normal surface.
