The first centrifugal evaporator compression still constructed by Dr. K. C. D. Hickman, and referred to as the No. 1 machine, comprised a single aluminum rotor 15 inches in diameter, manifolded to a positive displacement steam compressor. This was followed by a double rotor still, the No. 2 machine, which contained two opposed aluminum rotors 18 inches in diameter, manifolded to a centrifugal blower. It was this machine which was turned over to the Badger Manufacturing Company in April 1954.
