摘要

The WaterSMART initiative of the U.S. Department of the Interior and the Groundwater Resources Program of the U.S.Geological Survey (USGS) are designed to provide information and analysis to stakeholders and decision makers for characterizing our Nations groundwater and surface water resources to ensure their wise use and future availability for agricultural, municipal, industrial, and environmental needs. In consideration of these objectives and because groundwater and surface water are a single resource, the studies described herein explored the possible effects of shallow groundwater withdrawals on the Fox River.
