摘要

The fixed-bed trickle-flow reactor is widely used for three-phase catalytic processes, but its mode of operation is limited to the concurrent gas-liquid flow. For equilibrium limited and product inhibited reactions, the countercurrent mode of operation is preferred. The three-levels-of-porosity concept is one of the reactor concepts capable of countercurrent operation. For its design, relations of hydrodynamics and mass transfer are indispensable. These relations are not available in the literature. The development of this kind of relations is one of the main objectives of this study. Further research objectives and the outline of the thesis are presented.
