The recently developed domain-integrated field equations approach to static211u001emagnetic field computation is applied to some two-dimensional configurations, 211u001eviz., a model rotor/stator slot configuration and a model magnetic recording head 211u001econfiguration. Consistently linear edge expansion functions are used for the 211u001emagnetic field strength, together with consistently linear face expansion 211u001efunctions for the magnetic flux density, both on a triangular mesh. The method 211u001ehandles large contrasts in material properties on a coarse mesh, with excellent 211u001eglobal error properties, in acceptable computation times.
