EPA has developed a monitoring plan for the 106-Mile Deepwater Municipal SludgeSite, located beyond the continental shelf off the New York/New Jersey coast. The objective of the monitoring program is to ensure that regulatory requirements are met. The purpose of this report is to review studies conducted in the vicinity of the 106-Mile Site. Those study results that pertain to or can be used to test the null hypotheses directed at the assessment of potential impacts will be summarized. Some of the information provided by studies reviewed for this report can be used to establish baseline conditions within the vicinity of the site.
