The article presents the results and findings of audquantitative and qualitative research into the use of ATSudand the characteristics of attending electronic musicudevents in Slovenia. The main conclusions of the studyudthat concern the prevalence of drug use at electronicudmusic events point to a decrease in the prevalence ofudecstasy use and an increase in the use of cocaine andudmethamphetamine. The analysis of the interviews in theudqualitative part reflects the influence of the normalizationudof drug use on a specific group of people – those whoudattend electronic music events – and is evident amongudall of the subgroups included in the interview section.udThese young people are familiar with drugs becauseudthey have become more accessible and are a part of the growing up process of every individual; this can also been seenudin the attitudes the young people who do not use them haveudtowards drugs. These young people continually put off quittingudtheir drug use further and further into the future or else theyuddo not even consider stopping. The analysis of the interviewsudshows that these young people are relatively well aware of theudmeasures necessary for reducing the harm caused by drug useudand the measures to take in case of an overdose, as well as ofudthe available sources of help.
