摘要

The purpose of this study is to recognize the influence that teacher`s emotionalintelligence has on the development of early childhood students emotional intelligence. Totry to answer to this, a literature review of the issues on the field was made. First, it isimportant to explain the definition of emotional intelligence. Salovey and Mayer (1997)introduced this term arguing that humans doesn’t have one intelligence (rational). Theythought there was another one related with the emotions which they called emotionalintelligence. This kind of intelligence refers to the human ability to manage their emotionsand to generate empathy with other`s emotions.Since Salovey and Mayer a lot of investigations in this field were made trying todemonstrate the impact of a person’s success with or without emotional intelligence in ashort, medium and long term. It is because of these investigations that the importance ofdeveloping emotional intelligence has appeared over the years.On the other hand, it is important to analyze how early childhood kids learn, theteachers role and the emotional development they are expected to have in these years.Then, the study of the relationship of these topics demonstrate how teacher’s emotionalintelligence in early childhood influences or not the development of it in their students.
